Tick control
Tick control where the lawn meets the trees
Ticks wait in leaf litter, tall grass and along stone walls, not out in the sun on the open lawn. We treat that edge and tell you what to trim.

Spring and the fall return
A short list of what to trim and where to put the woodpile

Four steps
How we work the edge of a yard
Map the edge
We walk the line where lawn meets woods, brush or a stone wall and mark where we will treat.
Treat the leaf litter
We treat a band along that edge and under shrubs, following the product label.
Trim back
We tell you what to cut: the tall grass, the low branches, the leaf pile against the shed.
Come back
We return in the fall, when ticks are active again, and on your 21-day visits if you have both plans.
After time outdoors
What a yard treatment can't do
It lowers the ticks in your yard. It can't protect you on a trail or at the shore, and it doesn't replace checking yourself.
- Check yourself, your children and your pets after time outdoors
- Wear repellent in the woods
- Shower soon after coming in
- Ask your doctor or vet about anything you find
Results vary by yard. A wooded lot will always see more ticks than an open one.
Questions
Tick questions
Do you treat ticks on dogs and cats?
No. We treat the yard. Your vet is the one to ask about tick prevention for your pets.
Can the kids and the dog play outside after a visit?
Keep children and pets off treated areas until the spray has dried. We write the time on your visit sheet. Licensed applicators follow the product label, and we tell you what we used and where. If anyone in the house has a health concern, or you have a vegetable garden or a fish pond, tell us at the walk-through so we can plan around it.
What if they come back between visits?
Tell us within seven days of a visit and we will come back and re-treat the same area at no charge. That covers the areas we treated. It doesn't cover a neighbor's yard, an area we weren't asked to treat, or a visit missed because the gate was locked.
Start at the edge of the yard
Book a walk-through and we will mark where the ticks wait.
